Belsorb Mini X

Surface area and pore size distribution analyser Belsorp Mini X, developed by Microtrac: This instrument specializes in the analysis of specific surface area and pore size distribution using the volumetric isothermal gas adsorption technique and delivers precise data essential for research in porous materials, catalysts, and pharmaceutical formulations.

BiPHa+ biphasic Dissolution Setup

The BiPHa+ was developed to combine the advantages of the well-described biorelevance of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) apparatus II coupled with USP apparatus IV and a small-scale, one-vessel method. The BiPHa+ was designed for automated medium addition and pH control of the aqueous phase. In combination with the diode array UV-spectrophotometer, the system is able to determine the aqueous and the organic medium simultaneously, even if scattering or overlapping of spectra would usually be a problem. In  previous studys, we sucessfully established in vitro-in vivo realtionships using humans and mice as the emulated species. Therefore the system can, with low API use, provide biorelevant release data at an early stage of API and formulation development.

Spray Freeze Drying

Spray Freeze Drying (SFD) is a promising technique that combines the strenghts of spray drying and freeze drying: A fine powder with good flowability, low density and high surface area. The process includes atomisation of a liquid, freezing of the droplets in free fall and thus preserving the perfectly round shape of the formed droplets. The frozen powder is subsequently dried by either vacuum drying (VSFD) or atmospheric sublimation (ASFD). In ASFD it is not nessccessary to use vaccum pumps which makes it an energy efficient, enviromentally friendly technology for the future.
